General : The Sonus Faber Electa Amator 2 is a stunning monitor speaker, both to look at and to listen to. In remarkably good condition.

Technical : The Electa Amator II is a closed 2-way system with a 180mm woofer supported by a passive radiator on the back, also 180mm in diameter. From 2.8Khz, the 19mm Scanspeak tweeter takes over. These units are made from natural materials: the woofer and passive radiator are made of paper-composite material and the tweeter is made of silk. The cabinet is made of solid walnut wood with a genuine leather front. The stands are made of walnut wood and iron. The stands are therefore very heavy and provide a stable foundation for the speakers. They are also adjustable in height.

Listening : As organic as the design is, so too does the Electa Amator 2 sound. The sound is very smooth and natural. Due to the closed system, the bass is very tight and beautifully pronounced. A large, transparent soundstage unfolds, supported by an incredible amount of fine dynamics.
The Electa Amator II sounds somewhat brighter than its predecessor, partly due to the switch to the Scanspeak tweeter. All in all, you enjoy a very balanced sound with a touch of Sonus Faber magic. The set can now be auditioned at our listening room, of course accompanied by a delicious cup of coffee.
