Technology : The Aavik Acoustics C-580 preamplifier is a fully analogue constructed preamplifier, Single Ended preamplifier. This means no balanced design. At Aavik Acoustics they believe that the unbalanced design sounds better. The Aavik Acoustics C-580 is full of noise suppressing passive and active techniques such as Tesla Coils, and dither circuits. Everything has been done to keep the signal as pure as possible from input to output. The Aavik C-580 has, unlike the C-280, a Switchless Optical inputboard. The inputs are completely separated from each other, including the ground, and that has great sonic advantages. Less noise, more 3D. The power supply of the new C-580 is also special. It is a digital Resonant Mode Power Supply, driven by resonance mode sine waves instead of the usual square wave waves in ordinary switched mode power supplies. The power supply is at least 10 times stronger than what the C-580 will ever consume. In the Aavik Acoustics C-580 there are 108 Active Tesla Coils and 228 Active Square Tesla Coils. Additionally, there are Ansuz Dither Circuits built in at 10 locations. The enclosure is made of natural composite for optimal resonance behavior and the entire internal construction is solid copper for the best sound quality.

Listening : The Aavik C-580 analogue front-end is a sonically top preamplifier, comparable to the best sounding preamplifiers in the world. Everything just works perfectly. With great ease (and much pleasure) the Aavik C-580 plays all sources, with excellent control and very musical flow. The 3D soundstage is enormous, and the presentation very detailed. You will hear details you have never heard before. Everything proceeds with tremendous ease, and that gives peace and space for music. We dare to call the Aavik C-580 a musical dream. Combine the Aavik C-580 with an Aavik or other unbalanced power amplifier, tube, transistor or digital, it doesn't matter, the musical performance will always be optimal.
