General: Axxess is the fourth and newest brand of Audio Group Denmark, developed to make the high-quality sound of Audio Group Denmark accessible to a large number of people. The 3 other brands of Audio Group Denmark are: Aavik Acoustics, Ansuz Acoustics and Børresen Acoustics. All these brands are designed by the same designers and manufactured in the same factory, which is why these 4 brands also share Audio Group Denmark's distinctive yet highly effective techniques. The Axxess brand was launched in April 2023, and the first products made by this brand are the streaming amplifiers from the Forté series. The Forté series consists of 3 types: the Forté 1, the Forté 2 and the Forté 3.

Technology: The Axxess Forté 1 is made with the same vision as the rest of Audio Group Denmark's equipment, which means that the Axxess Forté 1 features extensive noise reduction onboard, is ultra-quiet, has very dynamic power output and has a sleek design. The Axxess Forté line thus consists of 3 streaming amplifiers, all with the same design and the same power. The difference between the Axxess Forté 1, 2 and 3 lies in the types and quantity of Tesla Coils and Dither Circuitry for noise reduction; the Forté 3 additionally features a solid copper bottom plate instead of aluminum to reduce hysteresis in the chassis. The Axxess Forté 1 uses 36 Active Tesla Coils, 72 Active Square Tesla Coils and 3 Dither Circuits. The nominal power is 100 Watts per channel, but more importantly, it is the way in which the Axxess Forté 1 delivers its power. The Axxess Forté 1 has very dynamic power output, which means the Axxess Forté 1 is extremely good at quickly and stably delivering peak voltages without distortion when the music signal demands it. This is due to the powerful and low-noise 'resonant mode power supply' and the modern and musical UMAC™ amplifier technology of the Pascal amplifier module. Lastly, the headphone output is driven by a very high-quality, fully Class A operating headphone amplifier. Because it is a Class A headphone amplifier, it features very linear power output, very high gain and very low distortion.

The Axxess Forté streaming amplifiers stand on Ansuz Darkz feet which are designed to be placed on top of Ansuz Acoustics' Darkz isolators, for people who want to get more musicality out of their Axxess Forté.

Technology: The highly advanced technology in Aavik amplifiers is unique. The Aavik U-188 uses the latest amplifier generation from Pascal. This latest generation UMAC™ amplification can switch even faster and generates even less noise than previous generations. As a result, less filtering is required and the output impedance is lower, giving the amplifier even more control over connected speakers. The Aavik U-188 features 2 x 300 Watts at 8 Ohm and even 2 x 600 Watts at 4 Ohm. This means the Aavik U-188 can drive practically anything, from massive Infinity's or B&W's and Wilson Audio to the largest models from Magnepan, Analysis Audio and other electrostatic speakers. The latest generation resonant mode power supply is very generously dimensioned and always calculated for the task. The technical design is very advanced and uses various techniques from sister brand Ansuz Acoustics. The Aavik U-188 includes comprehensive Noise and Impedance Reduction via Ansuz Tesla Coil and Dither Technology. The Aavik U-188 has 36 Active Tesla Coils, and 72 Active Square Tesla Coils. These Tesla Coils eliminate noise from the music signal and lower impedance, which ensures a freer flow of the music signal from point A to point B. There are also 4 Anti Aerial Resonance Coils in the Aavik U-288 which are applied to the internal wiring. Additionally, 3 Analog Dither Circuitries of the latest (3rd) generation are used in the Aavik U-188. The power consumption of the Aavik U-188 is very favorable. The Aavik U-188 consumes only 1 Watt in standby, and in music mode consumption is < 30 Watts idle. The Aavik U-188 includes a high-quality built-in DAC. The DAC supports PCM formats up to 32bit/384Hz and the USB input can also support DSD formats up to DSD128. Additionally, the DAC in the Aavik U-188 has an MQA decoder on board.

Streamer: The Axxess Forté 1 features an excellent and versatile streamer. This streamer can be controlled with the free Audio Group Denmark app, MConnect/MControl (iOS and Android) and BubbleUPnP (Android). One of the best options to use is JPlay (iOS only), however there are licensing costs associated with using JPlay. In addition, all 'Connects' are present, including Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Qobuz Connect. For people with a server, the Axxess Forté 1 can be used as a RoonReady endpoint behind a Roon server, or as an endpoint for an Audirvana server. There are also 2 USB ports on the back of the Axxess Forté 1 which can be used for a WiFi Dongle for a wireless connection (we recommend a wired connection), but you can also connect a USB stick or USB drive to play music directly from the connected USB storage.

As for connections, there is plenty available. The speaker connections are from WBT where both spade connectors, banana plugs or bare wire can be connected. There is an analog RCA input available for, for example, a CD player or phono preamplifier. An analog pre-out for subwoofers. There are 3 digital inputs available, USB-B for PCs or external streamers, SPDIF BNC for digital equipment such as a CD transport and a Toslink optical input for, for example, your television or Blu Ray player. On the back you will also find 2 USB inputs for a USB flash drive or a USB wifi dongle. Finally, there is also a trigger output which can be used to switch external amplifiers or subwoofers on. The trigger output delivers 12V DC up to 50mA.

Sound: The Axxess Forté 1 is a very special device in its price range. A complete audio set in 1 compact device with enough features and connections to serve virtually anyone. But does it sound good? To this we can only answer convincingly "Absolutely". The Axxess Forté 1 is a very musical amplifier, the sound is very natural and the entire recording is reproduced with great ease and the playback is very stable at any volume. The bass is powerful, tight and deep. The midtones are transparent, clear, refined and organic. The high tones are rhythmic, fast and precise. Yet, thanks to the extensive noise reduction, you won't find a trace of harshness in the sound. Listening fatigue is not an issue. The Axxess Forté 1 handles all music genres, the Axxess Forté 1 is dynamic and powerful enough to play hard trance, but also sensitive and atmospheric enough to play vocal jazz and classical music. It is very special to hear how much musicality you can get out of 1 device.
