Techniek : De Audio Physic Caldera 3  is een geheel nieuw ontwerp van Manfred Diestertich. Geheel anders qua opbouw dan de vorige Caldera series. De Audio Physic Caldera 3  is een gesloten luidsprekersysteem, gemaakt van een uit een stuk gebogen speciaal MDF. Het grootste gedeelte van de Audio Physic Caldera 3  is bedoeld voor de Bassweergave. De Audio Physic Caldera 3  is dus gesloten, en heeft 1 actieve woofer, en 1 passieve woofer per kant, dus 4 bewegende Units. De Units zijn uitgerust Ceramisch gecoate aluminium conussen. De Passieve radiatoren sluiten gerommel van bassreflexpoorten uit, en de Bass is hierdoor zeer diep, stevig en toch tunefull. Het lage middengebied wordt weergegeven door een Ceramisch gecoate aluminium unit evenals het middengebied zelf. Deze unit is gebouwd achter de zwevend opgehangen ringradiator tweeter, een zeer bijzondere constructie. De versterkeraansluiting is een single wire WBT connectie, ook weer gebouwd op een zwevend aansluitpaneel.

 

Luisteren : De Audio Physic Caldera 3  klinkt als een echte referentieluidspreker. Groots, met een enorm diepe en zuivere bass weergave, een mooi open en zeer muzikaal middengebied, en zeer verfijnd hoog. Gecombineerd met een grote en precieze ruimtelijke afbeelding blijft er niets te wensen over. Door het gesloten laagsysteem blijft de Bassweergave altijd mooi en soepel. De specifieke coaxiale middenunit met zwevende tweeter blijkt extreem goed te werken. De weergave is ruimtelijk zeer zuiver, maar nooit scherp. Een grote emotionele geluidsbel ontvouwt zich eenvoudig. De Audio Physic Caldera 3  is een typische muzikale luidspreker geschikt voor avonden achtereen muziek luisteren. Technical : The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is a whole new concept from Manfred Diestertich. It's built totally different than the previous Caldera series. The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is a closed loudspeakersystem which has been made from 1 big piece of high quality bent mdf. The cabinet of the Audio Physic Caldera 3 is closed, but it has 1 passive radiator per side of the speaker, so 2 in total. It also has 2 active woofers per side. The units are made from aluminium which has been coated with a ceramic coating. The passive radiators are there to release pressure from the cabinet, without giving the same messy vibrations that a bass reflex port would give. Because of this, the bass goes very deep, but stays pure, clean and tunefull. The low midrange tones are being presented by a ceramic coated aluminium unit which is found under the tweeter. But you will also find this same unit behind the 'floating' tweeter inside of the cabinet to present the higher midrange tones. The tweeter is not screwed onto the cabinet but it's hanging in a floating construction. The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is a very special construction. The loudspeaker inputs are single wire WBT loudspeaker inputs for Spades or Banana Plugs, which are mounted on a floating panel to eliminiate any cabinet resonance going to the loudspeaker cable.

Sound : The Audio Physic Caldera 3 sounds like a true reference loudspeaker. It sounds big, with a great depth and a transparent bass. The midrange is nice and open and very musically presented. The high notes are very detailled, neutral and refined. Combine this with a very precise and big soundstage and there is nothing left to wish for. It's very special to hear such clear & clean mid/high notes which such detail, without the loudspeaker sounding overly bright or sharp. The Audio Physic Caldera 3 can be used for a wide range of music genres. It has the power and speed to play electronic music, it has the emotion to play vocal jazz and blues, it has the resolution to play live music and it has the fun factor to play reggae and pop. The Audio Physic Caldera 3 is a loudspeaker which can be enjoyed many hourse every day without listening fatique and will never bore you after a few years of owning them, they will only grow on you.
